New Year, Here We Come!

One year ago, the hope we felt was palpable: vaccines were coming, along with gatherings, travel, parties — in-person everything! As we know, 2021 turned out to be more complicated than we expected, with new challenges in our communities and new stress in our lives. But taking a cue from Oprah's advice way back in the '90s, we decided to pause now with gratitude for some of the good that 2021 brought.

  • Vaccines — which meant more travel and gatherings than 2020, including NSPRA Seminar in New Orleans!

  • A permanent home for K12prWell and invaluable support from the CEL team

  • Our first official K12prWell logo and visual brand

  • Virtual presentations with SPRA friends, old and new

  • The unmatched skill, connection and encouragement of the school PR community

What are you grateful for in 2021? Spend a few minutes and jot down what comes to mind. A focus on gratitude is sure to lift your mood — and you might be surprised at what comes up!

As we look forward to 2022, we are choosing hope. Hope for fresh starts where they are needed. Hope for health, safety and genuine care in every community. Hope for the enormous potential of equity work. And hope that K12prWell will connect and encourage more people — and elevate more voices — in the year to come.

"There is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it. If only we're brave enough to be it."

– AMANDA GORMAN // American Poet
